Cattle Drive

We move groups of 50 to 75 cattle every couple of days with our rotational grazing program, but it was a whole new experience with our bottle calf Clover.  As Clover grew out of his original pen my wife constructed another pen that was in a better location and much larger.  Now it was time to move the calf.  Seemed easy enough.  Unfortunately Clover didn’t want to leave his old home

A calf rope, feed and some coaxing and they were on the way.  Half way there...Sarah Katherine helping....me watching and Danielle sweet talking the calf and he decided he was not going any further.  Danielle tried everything she could do.  Even Sarah Katherine decided that if leading from one end wasn’t working then maybe pulling on the other end would work

He finally decided he was ready to  to his new home and marched on without any problem.  He entered the new pen, ate some feed, drank some water and laid down for a rest after his adventure.  I think Danielle and Sarah Katherine took a nap after this too
